Medieval town in the Magra valley between the sea, the Cinque Terre and Tuscany
Buy property in Sarzana
Sarzana is a lively small town in eastern Liguria, a few kilometres from the sea and close to the Tuscan border. Its old centre, with fortresses and squares, is used by locals all year round, not only in summer.
Prices sit well below the better-known coastal towns, and the choice runs from flats in the centre through village and town houses to villas with gardens. For buyers who want a home they can live in all year rather than a pure holiday address, Sarzana is a serious alternative to Lerici or La Spezia.
- Lively old town with two fortresses
- Railway station on the Genoa–Pisa line and motorway access (A12)
- Beach at Marinella di Sarzana, Lerici and the Cinque Terre nearby
- Prices well below the well-known coastal towns
